The “fact checking” industry was always an Orwellian con job. Lies dressed up in truth drag. It was created to spread lies.

I am very glad to see woke being vanquished.

My fear though is that we could be in for something as bad or worse if the MAGA base ends up worshipping Elon Musk, and his band of Palentir spooks like Larry Ellison who pretend to be populist but who really want to bring us an “AI” (LLM) driven panopticon surveilled WEF style transhumanist dystopia.

As horrifying as woke was with it’s child genital sexual mutilation it was basically a paper tiger and collapsed as soon as big corpo saw it wasn’t in its self interest. Now (((big corpo))) and the tech bros seem to be rallying around a new dystopian vision where you may be free to say the N word or whatever, but you will eat ze bugs, take ze crypto, and be surveilled 24/7 for any behavior that threatens the system.

The question is, does the dissident space realize this danger or not? Some do for sure “Academic Agent,” has been sounding the alarm recently, but is it enough?

I think that a lot of the dissident space is busy cheering for Trump and Elon and hasn't stopped to think about the consequences of a technocracy. However, I also think that big tech, like the media, has a tendency to go all-in on The Current Thing until the Next Big Thing comes along. So while I'd say there's definitely a real danger that Palantir & Pals will try to build a Panopticon, there's also a real chance that they'll fail miserably after spending billions and billions on the effort. (See: OpenAI).

One rule of thumb every dissident needs to keep in mind: look for the things that frighten the powers that be. January 6 rattled them for years. People saying the N-word on social media is simply a distraction that entertains the masses and lets people feel like good guys or bad guys as they prefer. But when you take a look at how freedom of speech ends where Zionism begins, you can see what really worries the Powers That Be is not "White Supremacists" but pro-Palestinian activists. (And they should be worried: at this point Israel has lost the support of young Americans, which means within the next 10-20 years if not sooner the money and weapons spigot is going to dry up).

If you ignore the sideshow of Muh Racism, Muh Fascism, and Muh Trump, and focus on the things that are catching real heat from the authorities, you'll have a better idea of where the cracks are and how you can exploit them to your advantage.

Isn’t amazing that many of the same people who complain about misinformation on social media sites like X and Facebook also assert the ridiculous notion that a man can become a woman. Is any statement more a prime example of misinformation than that piece of nonsense?

How does one tell a fact checker from a propagandist?

The general rule of thumb appears to be "If they support my argument, they're fact checkers. If they disagree with it, they're propagandists."

Unless and until I see that you aren’t trying to sell me something or recruit me to a “team”, I will not trust you. And God have mercy on you if you attempt to harm me or get in the way of my continued survival. The “team sport” and “tribal” shit is going to be meaningless anyway in the near future. A person would have to be intellectually handicapped or willfully blind to not see and recognize the trajectory that we are on as a SPECIES. Things will go kinetic. It’s inevitable. I completely agree with everything that Mr. Filan says here. It is unwise to TRUST until you first VERIFY. 👊🏻
