I've seen quite a bit of racism first hand, but it doesn't match the media narrative. 95% of the racism I've seen in America was anti-white. Followed by 3% anti-Latino and 1% anti-Asian.
If I run a man down on the street, he may sue me or I may go to jail, but if he wants to walk again, he has to do the work himself. It’s not fair or right, it just is. Because we’ve reached the place where racism is “subtle” the rest of the way may simply need more work from those who are most affected. I can think of two issues that continue to plague Americans. The first is that we haven’t had a fair playing field for any working class Americans for forty years. Trump. in fact, says he wants to do something about this. He’d be glad to see more prosperous black Americans. Who wouldn’t? Crime as well needs a serious discussion, for the sake of working class neighborhoods. Everyone deserves safety on the streets. Using that as the goal, maybe we could work backward toward it again?
My next piece talks about how the oligarchic class got America all riled up about "racism" right about the time people started talking about income inequality and class consciousness. Since then we've seen enormous sums of money thrown at LGBT rights, fat-shaming, microaggressions, and just about anything that didn't get people wondering why a very small percentage of people hold a very big share of the money.
I think that we are less divided on most issues than we have ever been. And that means it is easier for us to organize around common goals as a unitary force rather than a bunch of squabbling subgroups. Which is the absolute last thing the people holding us back want.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said today that the American dream was not the ability to buy cheap stuff from China, meaning implicitly that the American dream is more about having a decent job. The whole point of tariffs is to reshore manufacturing, and bring jobs back home. Since the Democrats don’t care about this stuff, why not see what Trump can do?
Ghettoside by Jill Leovy(?) should be required reading for this one. The elephant in the room is witness intimidation of law abiding residents. There’s no denying the depressing stats. But intimidation is a very consequential variable.
What I find most interesting about the Black crime issue is that nobody outside the Black community wants to talk about ways to bring those crime rates down. Some want to dismiss it as innate African savagery, but they don't have the manpower or guns to fix the problem by getting rid of those African savages. Others want to put signs in their yard and talk about being an ally against racism. But they come up with solutions like defunding the police or giving the criminals a slap on the wrist that only make the problem worse.
According to CDC mortality data, in 2022 there were 13,446 Black homicide victims in the United States. The homicide rate among Black victims in the United States was 29.0 per 100,000.1 For that year, the national homicide rate was 7.7 per 100,000. For white victims, the national homicide rate was 4.2 per 100,000. The Black homicide victimization rate was nearly four times the overall homicide victimization rate (29.0 per 100,000 compared to 7.7 per 100,000) and nearly seven times the white homicide victimization rate (29.0 per 100,000 compared to 4.2 per 100,000).
At least the Nate Higgers and Spade Stomper types are honest about their feelings. If the White Left actually gave two shits about the issue, they'd be trying to come up with ways to bring those numbers down. Instead they engage in performative stunts to make themselves feel like noble, virtuous saviors. We're losing several 9/11s worth of young Black people every year. But because it's an uncomfortable minefield of a topic, very few people are willing to take a long hard look at those numbers, talk about why they are so consistently elevated, and come up with workable solutions that might help save a few lives.
Not sure why this is such a mystery to ostensibly intelligent people. There is a massive NGO-fueled anti-racism industry in America. If it successfully achieved its purported goal of ending racism, what would happen to the gravy train it has been riding since 1965?
Hush now. Pournelle's Iron Law is about to enter the room.
While we await, let's do the "Insoluble Homeless Problem."
Moving a bit away from the topic: I strongly suspect the rise of "Trans Rights" and the 157 flavors of Oppressed Queer Identities was fueled by the inconvenient fact that lesbian, gay, and bisexual Americans are more tolerated than ever. It's kind of hard to scare the wealthy homosexuals for shekels when AIDS is now a manageable medical condition and bakers can get sued for refusing to make gay wedding cakes. So they needed to get folks excited about the horrible transphobes who are LITERALLY KILLING four year old boys who want to be girls.
Until you're truly surrounded by it and just see the indifference, it's hard to explain. Guy died on the corner and literally within hours another dude pops up plying the same trade. The dehumanizing factor in all of this just boggles my mind.
I wholly support reparations with repatriation. If the US government is going to create fake money, might as well use it for a good benefit. American Descendants of Slaves (ADOS) would obviously be offered a significant sum per person and a residence in an African nation on the West Coast. Genetics offer a solution to the nations with which to negotiate. Offer the housing construction contracts to Black-owned businesses. Offer Muslims and Latinos a modest cash sum to go the f*ck home.
Things will self-sort soon. Be prepared. Recognize the other hand is going to fill up before the Hope hand.

Crime! Blacks commit more than any group. Doesn't mean most are criminals.
Does mean an example of failure of government was the civil rights movement..
